Pst...Guys...Over here!

Guys! Guys! Come over here! I know you are all there! Listen, it's Derpy. Remember me? I used to help Mitchie with the blog. Then it got kinda crazy with Twilight and Rainbow Dash and Applejack and Pinkie Pie and oh my gosh it was fun.

Listen, I've got some inside information on Mitchie. He's not been updating the blog, but he's not been goofing off...Sometimes. He's been working on his life things, writing his book and deciding what to do once the fall comes. So, I've taken it upon myself, Miss Derpy Hooves, to update his blog for him.

Okay...Um...What to do...How about I talk about myself? I think we used to do something called Derpy Diaries...Sadly none of that stuff ever happened! It was a made-up story, that Mitchie came up with while bored. So disregard all of that. I'm gonna tell you about myself this time.

Um...So my name is Derpy Hooves or Ditzy Hooves or Ditzy Doo or whatever I'm called now. Mitchie prefers Derpy. I'm a gray pony with blonde hair and yellow eyes. My cutie mark is a bunch of bubbles! I'll tell you why another time. I like to have fun with my friends and explore Ponyville and the areas around it. I even regularly explore the Everfree Forest! Except...Last time I went, I ran into a few timberwolves. They're extremely fragile, you know. I accidentally tripped over a rock while running and bowling balled threw them! Why was I running and not flying? Well, I forgot I could fly. I was really scared okay? You try to remember you can fly when you're getting chased by wannabe bushes!

I like to eat! I eat a lot for a pony, unless that pony is Pinkie. She eats a lot more than I do, but I eat more than somepony like Twilight. I visit Sugarcube Corner a lot. They have these chocolate chip muffins that are just amazing. I like oatmeal more, but when I asked Mrs. Cake if she had oatmeal muffins, Pinkie yelled "Oatmeal!? Are you crazy!?" I don't think she likes oatmeal too much.. Sadly, Mrs. Cake said they didn't have any oatmeal to make the muffins with. It's okay though, chocolate chip muffins are still great.

I don't know what else to say...So I'll go now! Bye bye guys!

Part 2

Sunlight filtered through the window, softly caressing the yellow pony's face. Her eyes opened slowly, showing the bright green of her irises. She closed them back and rolled away from the window. "Morning already...Ugh..." She pulled the purple sheet over her head to stop the sunlight from getting through, but it did not do much to help. She threw the sheet off of her and sat up, rubbing her hooves over her eyes. After a short yawn, she grabbed a small calender off the desk next to the bed. On the calender, there was a red circle on the fifth of the next month. She looked at the date today and took out a small marker, marking a red  X on the 24th, today. "Just another week..."
She made her way down to the main part of the library, which she had done the past week and a half. She looked through the window, staring into the sky, watching the clouds float by. Her brown bangs fell into her face, but she moved them away with her hoof. Her stomach growled, causing her to break her trance. "Hungry..." She looked around the library, hoping to find something to eat. Much to her expectations, there was nothing there. She called out, "Valor!" hoping to get the hawk to emerge from wherever he may be.
The hawk flew through the window, screeching. He landed on the yellow pony's back. The hawk tilted his head to look at her, then hopped off of her back and onto the table.
The yellow pony giggled. "Okay Val, go fetch us some breakfast. Oh, and if you can, bring me back something with daisies in it." She smiled. "Go! I'll take you on an awesome adventure later to make up for it!" She waved her hoof as Valor took off. She sat down next to the table and sighed. "He's going to take a while..." She looked around the many bookshelves, wondering just what to do. Her eyes stopped when they came across a peculiar-looking book in a brown leather binding. Curiosity getting the better of her, she pulled out the book and looked at the title. "One Hundred and One Mystical Artifacts?" She glanced around the library, making sure no one was near, before bringing the book to her table and opening it up to the first page. "Dear reader," she read aloud from the page, "if you're reading this, you must be a very superstitious or adventurous pony. This book is not for the faint of heart...Yeah, yeah let's just get to the artifacts." She turned to the next page. "Mystical Artifact Number One, the Alicorn Amulet." Her eyes widened as she read the description of the amulet. "This is just like the Alicorn Amulet that Trixie had on..." She looked further down and saw "Location: Locked away." That's odd, she thought, making sure her eyes were correct. This book looks ancient, how could it have information that was updated just recently. She turned to the next page. "The All-Knowing Circlet. This is a small circlet that, when worn, grants the wearer access to all knowledge ever recorded. While worn, however, it slowly corrupts the wearer with dark magic, eventually causing the wearer to become completely evil and insane." She shivered. "Location: Destroyed. After being found by Princess Celestia, Celestia, Cadence, and Luna combined their efforts to destroy the circlet." The yellow pony rubbed her eyes before reading over the location again. "This is getting weirder..." She flipped through the book, stopping on a page that held the book itself. "This book updates itself using an advanced magic that connects it to the various artifacts listed within. Location: Ponyville Library, in the hooves of one 'Casey Lighthoof'..." She backed away from the book. How...How can it know my name?

A New Story

"Augh! This is so infuriating!" A yellow colored pony, a pegasus pony, slammed her head against a table, causing a nearby ink cartridge to fall off the desk and onto the wooden floor of the library. Thankfully, the ink cartridge was closed and none leaked out. She moved her head so that her face was facing forward, but her chin rested on the wood of the table. Her brown mane's bangs fell into her eyes, but she did not move them away. She whimpered a bit before picking her head up again and yelling. "I should not be in here!" She looked towards her rump. "Does my cutie mark look like a damned book? No! Then why am I watching a library?" She turned around a few times, keeping an eye on her cutie mark, which was a backpack with a compass lying against it. "No, still not a book." She sighed and sat down, putting her head against the table once again. "I should be out in the Everfree forest, having adventures of epic proportions. Yet here I am, rotting away in a library."
A few days before, Mayor Mare had asked this yellow colored pony to watch the library. Well, asked is not really the word we should be using here. It was more of, forced. This particular yellow colored pony was behind in payments, and a job watching the library while it's previous watcher was in Canterlot was the only thing that was available.
She looked towards the window, watching clouds float by in the sky. "Why do we even need a library watcher? I've been here for days and not one person has shown up looking for a book. With Twilight, oh I'm sorry, Princess Twilight Sparkle gone, no one really reads." She stood up and started walking around the library. She stopped in front of the D section. "And just where are all the Daring Do books?" Since Daring Do's original author, and thus the original sixteen books' author, is unknown, Twilight had simply stuck the books in the U section for "Unknown Author." Of course, this didn't sit well with this particular yellow colored pony, so she moved the Daring Do books to the D section for Daring Do. "They were just here last night! Someone must have broken in and taken them.." She groaned, then slowly moved her way back to the table. "Why is this so boring?" she asked, saying each word between steps.
A screech came from the window and the yellow pony looked up towards it. In through the window flew a large hawk that landed on the table next to the yellow pony. The hawk screeched again, and tilted his head to the side to look at the yellow pony.
The yellow pony smiled. "Hey Valor. Did you manage to catch your dinner?" She chuckled as Valor let out a series of short screeches. "Try not to let Fluttershy see you catching those rats. She might not like it if she's good friends with them." The yellow pony stretched out her legs and wings. "Then again, if you're catching prey from the Everfree forest, I doubt she'll even know." She yawned, blinking away the water in her eyes as they formed. "I'm going to call it a night. I'll see you tomorrow, Valor." She made her way up the stairs and plopped into the bed that used to be the sleeping place for Twilight Sparkle before she became a princess. The yellow pony fidgeted around before finding a comfortable spot to fall asleep.

Hearts and Hooves and Valentine's Too

Pipsqueak gulped down nervousness as he looked at the mare in front of him. He turned away to calm down, staring at the green grass next to the dirt path he was trotting on. He followed the rest of the class out to their destination. The class stopped in front of a large stage on the outskirts of town.

The teacher, Cheerilee, walked in front of the class, humming to herself the entire time. "Okay my little ponies! We're here!" She turned to her class after they stopped. "Now, we don't normally do this for Hearts and Hooves Day, but Princess Cadence wanted to treat all of you to a lovely ceremony!" Cheerilee turned to the stage and kept her broad smile as the curtains opened.

On the stage stood Princess Cadence. Next to her stood Matilda and Cranky Doodle Donkey. Princess Cadence walked forward. "Hello Ponyvillians. Today, I am here, all the way from the Crystal Kingdom, at request from Princess Celestia, to spread the joy of love to those of you here today. With me, I have Matilda and Cranky Doodle Donkey." At the mention of their names, the two mules bowed. Princess Cadence continued. "Love is a beautiful and powerful thing. Some say the magic of love is even greater than the magic of friendship." She turned to Matilda and Doodle. "Would you two come up to me?" Cadence looked back behind her. "And would you bring your friends, Twilight?"

Twilight walked up to Cadence from backstage. Behind her, her five friends appeared. On them, the Elements of Harmony sat. Twilight bowed to Cadence before turning to the audience. "Hello everypony!" Twilight waved her front left hoof to the crowd.

Cadence smiled. "Now, for our test subject. Where is he again?" Cadence looked up as a dark cloud appeared and lightning struck the stage. Out of the light appeared Discord.

Discord frowned. "Why am I here again?" Discord vanished and reappeared next to Fluttershy. "Fluttershy, you said I'd be able to cause some chaos. Did you lie to your friend?" Before Fluttershy could answer, he disappeared and reappeared next to Cadence. "And you, miss 'Oh I beat the Changelings.' What do you expect to accomplish without your Shining Armor here?"

Cadence smiled. "We're going to be using their love instead of my love with Shining." She pointed towards Matilda and Doodle before placing her hoof back down and looking up at Discord. "And don't worry, Discord. You'll cause some chaos soon enough." Cadence walked to the front of the stage. "First up, the Elements of Harmony." She turned to Twilight and nodded. She turned back to Discord. "Discord, summon us an Ursa Major."

Discord's eyes lit up. "One giant star-bear coming up!" Discord snapped his fingers as an Ursa Major appeared near the stage. The Ursa Major looked around, confused for a moment, before spotting the crowd. The Ursa Major roared, causing the crowd of small ponies to scream.

Twilight and her friends stepped forward. The Elements began to glow and the six ponies floated in the air. Twilight's eyes turned white before a large rainbow blasted from the Elements and into the Ursa Major. The Ursa Major howled as it was lifted into the air and disappeared in a puff of color.

Discord sighed. "You girls never let me have any fun anymore. It almost makes me want to be a statue again."

Cadence smiled. "Now, Discord, another please." Cadence placed a hoof on Matilda and another on Doodle. "Now, you two, I need you to focus on your love for one another. Otherwise I won't be powerful enough to pull this off." Cadence turned to see another Ursa Major appear out of nothing. This time, the Ursa Major ran straight at the crowd. The Ursa swiped into the crowd.

Pipsqueak cried out as he was swiped into the air and caught by the Ursa Major. He kicked at the paw, but to no avail. He cried out for help.

Cadence launched a pink beam at the Ursa Major. The Ursa's eyes stared to droop before his pupils turned into the shapes of hearts. The Ursa smiled and licked Pipsqueak before setting him back onto the ground.

Pipsqueak almost fainted after he was set on the ground. He shivered and turned to walk back into the crowd when a small, white unicorn came up to him.

Sweetie Belle smiled at Pipsqueak. "That was so cool! Are you okay, Pipsqueak?" Sweetie Belle walked up to him. "You're face is red! Are you sick?"

Pipsqueak's blush deepened and he shook his head. "N-No I'm fine." He coughed and smiled confidently. "I wasn't even scared."

Cadence smiled towards Pipsqueak. "Yes, you are a very brave little colt. Now, everypony, you see what the power of love can accomplish."

"Oh please." Discord teleported up to the Ursa Major. "So you made the Ursa not eat the little pony. That's nothing special. Twilight and her friends made the last Ursa poof into thin air." Discord smiled as the Ursa Major growled at him. The Ursa opened its mouth and closed it on Discord, swallowing him whole. The Ursa smiled contently for a few seconds before his eyes opened wide and a confused look spread across its face. Discord sat on the Ursa's head. "Oh come now. You think you can eat the master of Chaos?" Discord snapped his fingers and the Ursa Major vanished. "I'll take my leave now." He snapped once again and Discord was gone, but not before creating a rain cloud to rain on Rainbow Dash's head. Rainbow Dash started yelling at Discord, but her only reply was Discord's disembodied laugh.

Cadence bowed to the audience. "That is it! Thank you all for having me here today. I must return to the Crystal Kingdom now. Farewell!"

Sweetie Belle turned to Pipsqueak. "Were you really not scared?"

Pipsqueak chuckled nervously. "Um...Nope! I knew they would save me," he lied, laughing even more nervously. He looked at Sweetie Belle. "Um...I uh..." He started to blush. "Um...Here." Pipsqueak pulled out a card in the shape of a heart and gave it to Sweetie Belle. "W-Would you be my very special somepony?"

Sweetie Belle took the card and looked at it. The card was in the shape of a heart and was red. On the front side, the words "Would you be my special somepony?" were glued on, cut out in pink paper. Sweetie flipped it over and looked at the back. The back had a crudely drawn picture of Sweetie Belle and Pipsqueak holding hooves and smiling at each other.

Sweetie Belle smiled. "Of course Pipsqueak. Only if you'll be my very special somepony too!"

Pipsqueak's eyes lit up and his smile grew wide. "Okay! Let's go to Sugarcube Corner! I hear they make lots of good sweets!" He started running forward and turned for Sweetie Belle, who ran up to him. The two walked off towards Sugarcube Corner.

Rarity ran to the end of the stage. "WAIT! SWEETIE BELLE! YOU NEED A DREEEEESS!" She charged after the two ponies.

I know it's early for Valentine's Day. I just randomly had the idea after my own run of bad romance luck. I hope all of your Valentine's Day wishes and plans go much better than mine probably will. Happy Valentine's  Day!

The Alicorn Amulet Part 2

"Destroy the Alicorn Amulet? But it's a powerful, ancient artifact. Can we really destroy it?" Twilight looked up at Princess Celestia. "I've always heard powerful artifacts had to be destroyed a certain way."

Celestia nodded. "Yes, you must go on a journey. It's too dangerous to go alone, so I have someone to go with you."

Twilight looked at Celestia, confused. "I'm not going with my friends from Ponyville?"

Celestia shook her head. "I'm afraid this is too dangerous to bring anypony who isn't adept at magic. I'm afraid your friends would only be in grave danger. That is why I've brought somepony else you know." Celestia looked at the large door at the back of the room. "Come in, Trixie."

Twilight turned around. "Trixie? She's the whole reason this mess started!" Twilight watched as Trixie walked in, wearing her usual cape and hat. She walked up to Celestia and bowed.

"The Great and Powerful Trixie is here to help, Princess." Trixie turned to Twilight. "As soon as the Princess asked me if I could help, I quickly agreed. I feel responsible for all of this, it is only right that I do something to help."

Twilight looked at Trixie, then to Celestia. "Well, I appreciate the offer, but I think I can handle this alone."

Trixie shook her head. "You've seen what that Alicorn Amulet to do. Even with myself wearing it, you were no match for me. You need me, Twilight. You have no idea what you may face out there."

Twilight looked at Celestia. Celestia nodded and smiled. "Do not worry, I have the greatest faith in Trixie."

Trixie smiled and bowed once again. Twilight sighed. "So where does this journey take us?"

Celestia's smile faded. "I do not know."

Twilight shook her head. "Then what am I going to do?"

Celestia's horn began to glow and a large book floated into the room. "The Alicorn Amulet is one of three powerful artifacts. You cannot destroy one without all three being present." The book's pages began to turn rapidly until they stopped on a page with a picture of a necklace with wings at the top left and right of the pendant. "This is the Pegasus Pendant. Whoever wears this will obtain all powers of a Pegasus. Not near as powerful or deadly as the Alicorn Amulet, however, it corrupts just as the Alicorn Amulet does. Only, not for power." Celestia's eyes closed. "The Pegasus Pendant corrupts the body. All ponies have magic within them, and each pony needs this magic to survive. The Pegasus Pendant absorbs that magic. For the first few days, nothing will seem wrong. However, after a week of wearing it, the body will begin to thin. Eventually, the pony wearing it will be nothing more than bones." The pages began to turn once again, stopping on a picture of another necklace, this one having a small protrusion out of the top middle. "This is the Unicorn Necklace. This one is not as powerful as the Alicorn Amulet, but it does not corrupt the user in any way. It is said to be the only benign of the three."

Twilight studied each of the pictures in turn. After Celestia finished explaining, she looked up at her. "Then we need to find the Pegasus Pendant and the Unicorn Necklace?" Twilight nodded. "Any leads on where the two are located?"

Celestia shook her head. "No leads on locations. However, there was something that struck us as odd. In Manehatten, there were claims of an earth pony who could walk on clouds. You two should quickly get to Manehatten, perhaps the Pegasus Pendant is there." Celestia looked at the stain glass window depicting Spike holding up the Crystal Heart which had been created after Spike saved the Crystal Kingdom from King Sombra. "I'll send out scouts to the different cities. Be careful, you two. You don't know what you may face."

The Alicorn Amulet

Twilight Sparkle walked down the path towards the Everfree Forest. Along side her trotted Zecora. A small wooden box floated behind the two, surrounded by a light purple glow. Twilight sighed, stretching out her legs as she walked. "This has been a long day. Thanks again for all your help with Trixie, Zecora. I could not have done it without you."

Zecora nodded. "Your many thanks are unneeded, though they do not go unheeded."

As they reached the edge of the forest, a shadow flew over the two ponies. Twilight looked up just in time to see a tall, white Alicorn land in front of her. "Princess Celestia!" Twilight's mouth opened wide. "What are you doing here?"

Princess Celestia smiled and bowed. "Hello my dear student. And hello to you, Zecora. I'm here on an important occasion, actually. Twilight, I need you to come with me to my palace back in Canterlot. I also need you to bring me the Alicorn Amulet. It's of a great importance."

Twilight nodded immediately. "Of course. Sorry Zecora, I have to cut my visit short." Twilight turned to Zecora, who nodded and began walking away. Twilight turned back to Celestia. "I'll board the next train to Canterlot."

Celestia shook her head. "No time, grab my tail."

Twilight looked at Celestia, confused, then placed Celestia's tail between her hooves. "Princess, wha-"

Twilight blinked. She was now standing in the throne room of Celestia's castle. She looked around. "Wow! That was amazing! I didn't know you could teleport so far! Well, obviously you can teleport this far because you're the princess but wow!" Her eyes were lit up as she looked around the throne room. Suddenly, she stopped and looked back at Celestia. "But wait, if you can teleport so far, how come you ride everywhere in that carriage?"

Celestia chuckled. "Because it's not very polite to just poof into someone's home, now is it?" She walked towards her throne, then turned to face Twilight. "I've called you here for a very important reason, Twilight."

Twilight nodded. "Whatever test you have for me, Princess, I'll do it."

Celestia smiled. "Good. Now for your 'test.' I need you to destroy the Alicorn Amulet."

I Wasn't Prepared for This

And so it Begins Again

November 10th, 2012. The date in which the new season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic began. Three seasons of My Little Pony. Three years ago I wouldn't have even cared about this show, rather, I probably would have called people who watched it some rather rude names. Yet, due to some fortunate circumstances, here I am, blogging about the newest two episodes. It's funny, isn't it? An eighteen-year-old college student spending a Saturday watching My Little Pony and blogging about it.  Of course the weather isn't super outside right now, but you'd still expect me to at least be playing video games. Anyway, enough about me, on to the two new episodes.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
"The Crystal Empire" Parts 1 & 2

These two episodes, in my opinion, were pretty good. Of course, after the Season 2 finale, I was expecting a bit more butt-kicking and a little less love power, but it still is Friendship is Magic, so I suppose I was expecting a bit too much. All-in-all, a very good two episodes.

SPOILER ALERT!

The first episode, Part 1, was obviously the set-up episode, setting up for Part 2. We learn of the Crystal Empire, the villain, Sombra (who is, of course, named to reflect the main negative emotion/destructive force in this two-part opening), and the Crystal Ponies. Rarity seems to take quite a liking to the Crystal Empire and Crystal Ponies, not surprising. Celestia informs Twilight of a test. The test is to find a way to stop Sombra from corrupting the Crystal Empire once again. During the entire two episodes, the test is referenced many times, Twilight going and doing things on her own so she can pass the test, rather than having her friends help her out. Despite everything Twilight has learned about friendship so far, she still thinks doing things on her own is the best way to get things done. At the beginning, they run from Sombra in his shadow form which he had been cursed with last time he was defeated. He manages to lock Shining Armor's magic away in his horn, making him unable to keep up a barrier like he had back when fighting Chrysalis, the Changeling Queen from Season 2. Princess Cadence had been keeping up a barrier of love and good spirits to keep out Sombra, which turns out was his weakness, convenient considering Cadence's magic over love. Twilight and friends then set off to find a way to protect the Crystal Empire. After some clips, the group meets back up. Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Twilight, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy were all unable to find any information whatsoever. Applejack found out there was a library and Twilight quickly brought the group over to look through the entire library to try to find a book on the history of the Crystal Empire. There, they find out that there was a fair every year to strengthen the good spirits and joy of the Crystal Ponies. The group then sets off to recreate this fair, eager to quickly help the Empire. However, due to a missing page in the book, Twilight and friends overlook a serious issue, they need the Crystal Heart, a relic that absorbs power from joy and good spirits and uses it to protect the Empire. Twilight had simply crafted a fake one, not knowing that the real one was an ancient relic. This episode ends with the barrier fading and Sombra emerging from the horizon.

Part 2 begins with Cadence reawakening and putting the barrier back up. As she does this, Sombra collides his horn with the barrier, causing it to break and a piece to fall down inside of the Empire. The piece of horn then sinks into the ground. Twilight then tells Rainbow Dash to keep the fair going and keep the Crystal Ponies in high spirits, because that's what the Crystal Heart runs off of. Rainbow Dash does just this, heading off to quickly relay the message to her friends. Twilight and Spike then head off on a quest to locate the Crystal Heart within the Empire.

What, did you expect me to give you all of part 2? Hah, you're silly. If you want to know what happens, go watch it. I gave you part one, so now you only have to watch the second part. In my opinion, once again, very good episodes, and I look forward to the rest of the season.

Now, normally I'd have Twilight or Applejack or one of the other ponies help me out here, but sadly they are all still on their train ride back home. I do, however, have our favorite muffin-lovin' pony with us today. Derpy's here to answer any and all of your questions you wish to ask her! Leave any questions you want answered down in the comments, and Derpy will answer anything you ask. Right, Derpy?
"Yep! Give me any question you want answered! I'll take any spare muffins off your hooves too! Bye bye everyone!"
Wait, Derpy, I'm not yet ready to end the blog. No, don't click tha-
